Arm Lift Gatineau - Ottawa
GENERAL INFORMATION
Generally speaking, a major weight loss is the reason for this procedure. Excess skin will not disappear on its own without surgical intervention. The operation involves removal of pendulous skin between the armpit and the elbow. The scar is thus quite long, but it is on the underside of the arm where it is less obvious. It does however have a tendency to widen over time (2-3mm).
RISKS & COMPLICATIONS
The risks and complications are the same as those for other procedures (infection, bleeding, scarring problems, etc.).
OTHER INFORMATION
The procedure, which lasts from an hour to an hour and a half, is not very painful. A compression garment must be worn for 6 weeks after surgery. Lymphatic drainage is recommended following the operation (see the section on massage).
